Since antiquity figures have been widely studied within the framework of rhetoric, although contemporary rhetoric has tended to disregard their importance and relegate their study to the domain of literary criticism. However, since the 1980s, there has been a renewed interest in figurative language not only in literary studies, but also in other fields of research. Análisis y revisión del sarcasmo y la lítote: propuesta desde la Teoría de la Relevancia

Overall, sarcasm and litote have been considered rhetorical fi gures and, therefore, dislocated uses of language. Classical studies accept the existence of two different languages: the literal one and the fi gurative one, whereas more recent theoretical frameworks, such as Relevance Theory, disagree with this standpoint. In that sense, this paper attempts to revisit some classical considerations from the perspective of Relevance Theory; one signifi cant conclusion will be that there is only one language with different uses guided by communicative relevance.

In this paper it is analysed the frequency of a given number of linguistic features within the corpora of the traditionally so called Antiphon the Orator and Antiphon the Sophist. The aim is to determine, by means of statistics, the linguistic and stylistic criteria that might allow to point out or at least to suggest that the works attributed to them could be assigned to the same hand.

ABSTRACT: Allegorical and emblematic images do not appear exclusively in visual literature: Genres such as the Italian or the Italian-inspired Counter-Reformation oratorios, cantatas and sacred or moral operas often contain images quite similar in form and function to those published in the Seventeenth and early Eighteenth-century European collections of emblems. This article analyses some of these parallelisms in the particular case of Il trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno (c. 1707), by the librettist and patron of the arts Cardinal Benedetto Pamphilj and the composer Georg Friedrich Handel. Cet article porte sur les rapports de contigüité exigés lors de la résolution des anaphores associatives. Il s’agit en général de relations métonymiques, car les différents rapports, à caractère notamment socioculturel, entre référent et marque anaphorique convergent dans un même cadre conceptuel, se faisant écho d’éléments ou caractéristiques du même domaine cognitif. Valoración aristotélico-argumentativa del caso Iguala, a propósito de la Comisión por la Verdad y la Justicia

En la presente investigación se analiza la fundamentación de la sentencia de amparo en revisión 203/2017 del Caso Iguala, en su resolución de conformar una comisión investigadora de la verdad y la justicia, para esclarecer y resolver el caso de los 43 desaparecidos. Desde la teoría aristotélica de la argumentación se busca estudiar la sentencia y decantar sus resultados lógico-argumentales a partir de dicho modelo hermenéutico. Finalmente, se evaluará su racionalidad de acuerdo con el paradigma tríadico: analítico-dialéctico-retórico que compone la lógica de Aristóteles, para ver si los argumentos presentados se justifican y convencen en sí mismos.
